Alyson Lawrence, MSW, LCSW-A
Mental Health Therapist
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just noticing that something isn’t working the way it used to. My goal is to create a supportive, down-to-earth space where we can make sense of what’s going on and build tools that actually work in everyday life. I work closely with girls and women of all ages, as well as boys up to age 16, as they make sense of what they’re feeling and build skills to handle life’s challenges.
I specialize in supporting clients who are navigating overthinking, low self-esteem, people-pleasing, perfectionism, burnout, identity concerns, body image, academic or career stress, friendship and relationship challenges, self-doubt, dating, boundary-setting, life transitions, difficulty regulating emotions. I also have experience working with trauma and sexual abuse.
My style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in authenticity. My approach is person-centered and evidence-based, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), mindfulness, and somatic techniques to help clients better understand themselves and develop coping strategies that feel realistic and sustainable. My sessions are always tailored to what you need most–whether that’s space to talk, tools to cope, or just someone who gets it. Therapy with me is about creating a space where you can feel safe, supported, and empowered to show up fully.
